MORE ABOUT THE GDUI CD, FROM OUR PRESIDENT, DEBBIE GRUBB

Hello Everyone,

One of the most delightful experiences I've had recently was listening to the GDUI CD, "Harness in Hand". Listening to this CD was a heart warming and heart awakening experience for me and I know that it will be the same for every guide dog handler, puppy raiser and guide dog handler friend who takes the time to let its beautiful music and poetry into their hearts.

The variety is wonderful from the folksy to the lyrical.

Veronica Elsea gives us a realistic vision of receiving that successor guide dog.

Sally Rogers gives us a down home and very realistic understanding of what a guide dog really is from the ground up.

Rebecca Kragnes fairy touch on the ivories leads to our own special guide dog place of memories.

We fly in a very 21st century feel with Jenine Stanley as she brings us heart to heart with her husband, Kent, as he experienced the teaming and ultimate loss of his first guide dog.

Rhonda King through her beautiful poetry gives us a glimpse into her bond with her guide dog, Bonnie.

Stacey Robinson takes us all with her as she experiences working in guide dog school with her first guide dog and trainer.

All of this poetry is beautifully enhanced by the music of Sheila Styron.

DeAnna Noriega takes us with her as she fondly remembers three very special guide dogs. Her poetry soars on the wings of gorgeous Native American flute music played by her brother.

The many talents of Sheila Styron are evident in every moment of the CD. She sings, arranges and was the driving force that made this wonderful recording a reality. A puppy raiser friend of Sheila's gave us a wonderfully alive song about the puppy raiser and the ongoing effect that individual has in the life of the guide dog. Sheila contributed a beautiful song honoring her new relationship with Dorian, "Canine Angels" which absolutely captures the souls of our guide dogs and, of course, her special 30th anniversary gift to GDUI, "Thirty Years, Harness in Hand". Who can listen to that without a chill creeping down the back or a tear coming to the eye?

Purchasing this wonderful CD will assist GDUI with its advocacy and legislative work and it will touch your heart and mind so that you will never be quite the same guide dog handler that you were.

Please contact Jane Sheehan at our administrative office, 1-888-858-1008 to bring this fabulous work of art into your life.
